It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our club president, Mr. John Martin.
A lifelong and devoted member of Man O’War Gaelic Football Club, John was a hugely valued and much-loved part of our community. He was a kind and welcoming presence, always ready with a story or a chat worth pausing for. John was a fountain of knowledge about our club’s rich history—its teams, supporters, and volunteers—and he carried that legacy with great pride. He never passed anyone without stopping to ask how they were, and how things were going within the club. He truly embodied the values that make our club so special. The depth of affection for him was clear to see when we celebrated his 90th birthday in our clubhouse last summer—an evening filled with warmth, laughter, and appreciation for a remarkable man.
John, you were one of a kind and an inspiration to all in Man O’War.
We extend our heartfelt condolences and love to John’s wife Lil, his son Padraic, his extended family, and his wide circle of friends.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
