Celebrating 80 Years
Long Cogaidh – 80 Bliain ag Fás
Man O'War • 1946–2026
In 1946, a group of passionate Gaels came together in our community to form Man O'War GFC – Cumann Peile Long Cogaidh. What began as a small, dedicated band of players and volunteers has grown into a proud and thriving GAA club at the heart of our parish.
As we mark 80 years of our club in 2026, we celebrate not just the football, but the friendships, the families, the volunteerism, and the unbreakable community spirit that have carried us from generation to generation. From our earliest days on borrowed pitches to the club we know and love today, Man O'War GFC stands as a testament to what can be achieved when a community pulls together.
This milestone belongs to every player, mentor, coach, officer, volunteer, supporter, and family who has worn the blue and gold, stood on the sideline, or given their time to our club across eight remarkable decades.
Long Cogaidh. Always.
