Celebrating 80 Proud Years of Man O’War GFC

This summer marks a truly special milestone for Man O’War GFC as we celebrate our 80th Anniversary — eight decades of football, friendship, community spirit, and unforgettable memories.

Founded in 1946, Man O’War GFC has been at the heart of the community for generations. From juvenile teams taking their first steps onto the pitch to unforgettable championship battles, the club has created a legacy built on dedication, pride, and togetherness.

To celebrate this incredible occasion, we’re inviting players past and present, supporters, families, neighbours, and friends to join us for a fantastic day of sport and celebration on:

Saturday, July 25th, 2026

There will be something for everyone throughout the day:

• 3:00pm – 4:30pm: Juvenile Games
  Watch the next generation of Man O’War stars showcase their skills and passion for the game.
• 5:00pm: Ladies Game
  Celebrate the strength and growth of ladies football in the club with what promises to be a great contest.
• 6:15pm: Men’s Game
  A special evening fixture featuring familiar faces, club legends, and current players.
• 8:00pm onwards: Anniversary Celebration in the Man O’War Gastro Pub Lounge
  Join us for an evening Hooley filled with music, stories, laughter, and celebrations as we honour 80 remarkable years of our club.

This event is more than just football — it’s a celebration of community, memories, and the people who have made Man O’War GFC what it is today. Whether you wore the jersey, cheered from the sidelines, volunteered behind the scenes, or simply supported the club over the years, this celebration is for you.
